Sofia Tech Park JSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IMEC
Sofia Tech Park JSC announced that on 17.01.2017 they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IMEC, the world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technology, for collaboration on projects in the field of nanoelectronics and nanotechnology.
The first step of this collaboration will be the set-up of facility for training and educational activities at various levels in all areas related to nanoelectronics, nanotechnology and design including but not limited to ICT, energy, healthcare.
A wide range of seminars, training courses and online content will be offered to young people from academia and industry not only from Bulgaria but also from other countries in the region.
This initiative is based on Imec’s academy 30 years of expertise.
Imec academy is the learning institute for imec's own employees and the local and international industry and academia. IMEC academy offers high-level technical training programs that combine world-class expertise with hands-on applications. The training offer is divided into three pillars:
Integrated Circuit (IC), System on Chip (SoC) & Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design
Applications, health & energy
The cooperation between Sofia Tech Park and IMEC is also an opportunity for Sofia Tech Park to improve visibility, expand network and, together with IMEC, to step into projects supported by various funding instruments – both on national and European level.
Thus Bulgaria's first science and technology park will be able to expand its business and become a significant point on the map of scientific developments in the field of nanotechnology.
For imec, this is an important step in exploring and establishing strategic cooperation with one of the countries in Eastern Europe.
