About Sofia Tech Park
Our goal is to transform Sofia Tech Park into a prestigious hub for global, regional, and national researchers and innovative companies, setting an example of a knowledge-based economy in Bulgaria and the Balkan region. The priorities in our work are to enhance the competitiveness of science and entrepreneurship by improving knowledge exchange between academic circles and the business community, supporting startup companies and innovative ideas, and catalyzing the commercialization process of scientific research.
The business community at Sofia Tech Park consists of 48 companies, including startups, mature companies, and investment funds.
The laboratory complex is one of the key elements of the science and technology park, established with the support of leading experts from academic institutions.
In 2023, companies from the Sofia Tech Park ecosystem attracted investments totaling over 9 million BGN for the development of their business ideas, projects, services, and products. Some of the companies are already successfully entering not only the Bulgarian market but also international ones.
Sofia Tech Park hosts, organizes, and partners in organizing over 300 events annually focusing on science, entrepreneurship, education, innovation, and technology.
Components of Sofia Tech Park’s infrastructure include: Business Incubator, Laboratory Complex, John Atanasoff Innovation Forum, Museum/Experimentarium, Tech Sport Sports Complex, hostel, as well as an open, well-landscaped park environment with a playground and outdoor fitness facilities.

The park consists of several distinct units interconnected with synergy aimed at fostering the development of innovation, technology, science, and entrepreneurship.
Details
The incubator is a place to support startup businesses for the development of innovative products and services. It is part of the country’s innovative ecosystem, partnering with organizations and mature companies that also have their place. In addition to office space, companies can use modern shared conference rooms, storage facilities, relaxation areas, sports facilities, and more. Startup firms receive support in the form of consultations – administrative, marketing, financial – through organized lectures, educational programs, participation in conferences, thematic forums, and other events.

The laboratory complex is one of the main elements of the science and technology park. It consists of 11 high-tech laboratories, established with the support of leading experts from academic institutions such as Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski,” Technical University of Sofia, and Medical University of Sofia. The laboratories within the complex conduct independent and collaborative scientific research activities, the results of which will be widely disseminated. The scientific units offer opportunities for private companies to develop projects for goods or services with the aim of commercializing them.

The building of the Experimentarium is intended to be a museum center of innovation and high technology. Here is located the first interactive children’s center in Bulgaria, called “TechnoMagicLand”.

The Innovation Forum “John Atanasoff” is a multifunctional event venue where conferences, seminars, congresses, and other events are held, aiming to strengthen dialogue between the scientific and business communities. Its function is to facilitate the formation of the ecosystem in the field of technology transfer and innovation, as well as to provide a suitable environment for the exchange of ideas.
