New technological park of Technical University of Gabrovo opened its doors on November 20th. The park includes 18 laboratories of the Center of Competence “Smart Mechatronic, Eco- and Energy Saving Systems and Technologies”, the Center of Excellence “National center of mechatronics and clean technologies”, the Center of Competence “Quantum Communication, Intelligent Security Systems and Risk Management” (Quasar) and the Center of Competence “Digitalization of the economy in an environment of Big data”. The centers are funded by the Operational Programme “Science and education for smart growth”, cofounded by the European Regional Development Fund.
The event was a hybrid . Todor Mladenov, the Chief Executive Officer at Sofia Tech Park took an online participation and wished our partners of the Technical University of Gabrovo luck. He also expressed willingness for collaborative initiatives and projects between the teams of the two parks.
The partners in the project for the Tech Park in Gabrovo are the Technical University of Sofia, Technical University of Varna, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”’s Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Institute of Robotics of BAS, Institute of Electronics of BAS, Central Laboratory of Applied Physics.
The scientific parts of the new park are situated in 4 laboratory complexes – “Energy saving systems and technologies for design and production of high-tech products”, “Intelligent mechatronic systems for measuring and control”, laboratory complex “Intelligent energy saving systems and technologies” and laboratory complex “Electronics and sensors”.
As part of the Center of Excellence “National center of mechatronics and clean technologies” in the Technical University of Gabrovo is constructed a laboratory “Precise measuring of dynamic variables in mechatronics” in the laboratory complex “Robotized mechatronic technologies”. Partners in the project are Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of BAS (leading partner), Technical University of Sofia, Technical University of Varna, University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy of Sofia and 11 another institutes of BAS. This laboratory is one of a kind in the country that has a mechatronic system with six degrees of freedom for research of dynamic characteristics.
The technological park includes a laboratory from project “Digitalization of the economy in an environment of Big data”. Partners in the project are University of National and World Economy, University of Economics – Varna, Technical University of Gabrovo, Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski”, University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev”, Institute of Information and Communication Technologies of BAS.
The rector of the Technical University of Gabrovo, prof. Iliya Zhelezarov, PHD, said that the park will work for development of projects oriented towards the business. The preparation for accreditation of the scientific parts has started – they will realize measurements and based on them we will be able to issue worldwide acknowledge certificates.
The newly bought equipment’s qualities suppose the realization of scientific and scientifically applied research activities not only for the needs of the business, but also for creating a sustainable model of applying modern techniques in the education of students.
