The Second Season of PARA Robotics Incubator is Now Open

02 February 2023

Recruitment for the second season of PARA Robotics Incubator is now open! Once again Sofia Tech Park is a partner and host of the initiative.
.

The six-month educational and mentoring program of PARA Robotics Incubator will be launched on March 6. Again this year, PARA is looking for young people with ideas for projects in robotics, hardware, drones, machine self-learning, smart city solutions, industrial solutions and innovation. The program will provide the participants with mentorship, funding for necessary hardware, access to labs and specialised equipment so that each one can create hiss working prototype in the program

.

Mentors and tutors will be engineers, technology entrepreneurs, experts, researchers and business representatives.

.

The participants in the second season will be divided into two groups depending on their stage of development: professional projects and learning projects. The PARA team will develop an individual plan for each participant based on their progress to date, so that participants can build on their knowledge and contacts to reach a developed prototype. Among the learning modules that will be covered in the program are: product prototyping, design thinking, machine vision and machine orientation, robot perception, finding partners to test and buy the technology, and more.

.

Applications for the second season of PARA Robotics Incubator are due by 11:59 p.m. on February 20, 2023, here https://www.incubator.para.expert/?fbclid=IwAR1aVQqf7Ua9Udj3k36wgl2N_YI8-ur2DCss6NKAqZuz13KWk-ywyLuCGkU

.
The first season of the program featured teams and individual participants who created: a weed-removal robot, a drone to aid emergency services, a robotic prosthesis, and a platform to predict prices of electronic components. All these projects were presented at the PARA Forum in September at Sofia Tech Park, and three of them received financial awards for their performance. Two of the projects of participants in the first season were able to acquire follow-up funding to enable their projects to reach the market, and other incubator participants were offered scholarships for their further academic development.
