WordCamp is definitely different from any other conference you have attended. This is an event that has its own specific agenda and philosophy and follows the standards of the WordPress community along with its code of conduct. But before we introduce you to WordCamp Sofia, here’s a brief introduction to what exactly WordCamp is.
How did it all start?
In 2006, the world’s first WordCamp was held in San Francisco. Since then, more and more WordCamps are being held in more than 65 countries worldwide.
WordCamp is held almost every week, and nearly 40 WordCamps are expected to happen by the end of the year – lol.
WordCamps is for anyone who uses or wants to learn more about WordPress. You don’t need to be an expert to take advantage of WordCamp. Whether you are a designer, student or new user, you can take advantage of WordPress.
WordCamps are made possible with the support of WordCamp Central. Organizers do not get paid to host these events, and volunteers and lecturers also share their time and experience with no reward to contribute to community development.
