The first Engineering Center in Sofia, opened by Bosch, the world’s leading provider of technology and services, is celebrating one year of operation in the country, was announced by the company. The team of highly qualified professionals is involved in the development of over 40 international projects related to technologies for the automotive industry in areas such as driver assistance systems, automated driving and electric mobility. The center works closely with Bosch’s development teams in Germany, the United States, Hungary and Romania, providing the best solutions for the world’s leading carmakers. Bosch Engineering Center Sofia is part of the innovative ecosystem of Sofia Tech Park and the team of the Science and Technology Park wishes them many more successes and top innovative achievements.

“In just one year, we have shown that we have the potential and expertise to take on the full work of a project – from software, through project management, communication with the client to overall process management. Our ambition is to close the whole cycle and soon to offer on the market technologies developed entirely in Bulgaria “, shares Dinko Rusev, technical director of Bosch Engineering Center Sofia. After its contribution to the development of many software functionalities, Bosch Engineering Center Sofia continues to grow by creating complete solutions for the so-called “cars of the future”, the company commented.

Automated systems can prevent accidents and make it easier for users

Among the Center’s developments are systems that assist the driver of the car and ensure safer driving. Examples of such systems are those for behavior monitoring and evaluation, which analyze the behavior of drivers and passengers through artificial intelligence (AI). Based on this analysis, decisions can be made and actions taken to prevent road accidents. The center also contributes with the development of the latest generation of front video camera, the company clarifies. The system offers a variety of convenient and secure features, such as road monitoring, road sign recognition, intelligent headlight control and pedestrian protection.

One of the latest projects that Bosch Engineering Center Sofia is working on is the development of eBike components, the company said. The dynamic environment, the need for distance and environmental responsibility have led to a boom in the development of this technology in recent years. Bosch has a 70% market share in the production of electric bicycle technology in the world.

Career opportunities for specialists and development of young talents

The company provides its employees with inspiring working conditions and the opportunity to participate in attractive projects related to the latest technologies in the automotive sector. In just twelve months, there has been a doubling of the number of employees – from 120 to over 250, and the process of hiring experts continues. The company currently has open positions for software engineers and hardware specialists for the newly formed hardware department.

In addition to initiating training programs for qualified and experienced engineers, the company also supports young talents in their professional development.
