Sofia Tech Park is a partner in the DIH2 project for a pan-European network for the construction of flexible production and robotics. It is performed by 37 partners, 28 countries, including 26 innovation centres and 10 companies providing operative expertise. The project aims to reach more than 300,000 small and medium-sized enterprises. For companies, the DIH2 consortium offers expertise and support for agile production challenges, including technologies, investments, standardisation, know-how and competences, as well as ethics and cyber security. It’s main goal is to expand the innovation by cutting costs of advanced robotics solutions and double the growth of robotics market.
A leading role in the DIH2 project by Sofia Tech Park has the Artificial Intelligence Lab in the Science and Technology Park. The lab focuses on research and development in intelligent systems for medical applications, algorithms for controlling robots and drones, intelligent systems for early warning of natural disasters and intelligent systems for the recognition and certification of materials and products. In the project also take a part 3D Creativity and New Products Rapid Prototyping Lab, MINOLab, Cyber Security Lab at Sofia Tech Park.
The project started in January with a conference in Tampere, Finland. It’s total worth of about EUR 16.8 million, which is provided by the Horizon 2020 program and national co-financing by the participating countries.
The DIH2 project, coordinated by the Finnish state-owned company VTT, is a network of 26 digital hubs from the respective countries with a tendency for growing of participants.
