Two new spaces in support of researchers, entrepreneurs, students and people who would like to pursue a successful innovative endeavor, have opened in the Sofia Tech Park Incubator building. The creation of Groworking Space and Club House aims to foster synergies between the scientific community and the entrepreneurial community for the development of innovative market products or services, as well as to stimulate and facilitate the exchange of knowledge, ideas, concepts and experiences between businesses and scientists developing their projects based on scientific and applied activities.
“The opening of these two new spaces is part of the plans and efforts to develop Sofia Tech Park and expand the support we provide to start-ups and people with innovative ideas. We have tried to create good conditions in which we hope to be created many new successful companies and innovative products and services”, said Todor Mladenov, CEO of Science and Technology Park, during the official opening of the shared office space on Friday evening. The event was attended by representatives of partnering organizations of Sofia Tech Park, startups, mature companies, the academic community, venture capital funds, innovators, media and more. Natanail Stefanov of the Park Management Board said that the new spaces are the result of a number of discussions and discussions with representatives of science, startups and other shared workspaces in the city and are the result of the intensive work of the Sofia Tech Park team in recent months.
Momchil Vassilev, managing director of Endeavor Global Entrepreneurship Network for Bulgaria, welcomed the initiative and said that the two new spaces would be another place for support the innovative ecosystem.
Groworking Space offers 35 convenient workplaces that are designed to meet the needs of small startups and developing technology teams. Working hours of the shared office space are 24/7. Seats can be requested on the website – groworking.space or at the reception desk at the Incubator building.
The space can also be visited individually by entrepreneurs, students and people whose projects are at the idea level. Work spaces can be rented in the short or long term. The tenants will also have areas for team work, rest, dining, conference rooms and other additional services.
Groworking Space users will have the opportunity to work closely with the expert teams of the 11 high-tech laboratories of the science and technology park, with their expertise to help develop their innovative ideas or projects. Groworking Space will also provide a range of services such as consulting, training, mentoring sessions, access to Sofia Tech Park events, investment programs and opportunities, and the continued development of their innovative projects.
We also have a small children’s area where we will provide comforts for parents working in our shared office space. There is also a green park environment with outdoor fitness and a playground.
Club House is an autonomous part of Groworking Space and is a multifunctional hall for formal and informal events that promote productivity, for internal and external company meetings, team building, movie screenings and other events in a contemporary environment. The purpose of this space is to contribute to the creation of different communities, to support the exchange of ideas, achievements, results in the scientific and entrepreneurial community, which will activate the processes of commercialization of Bulgarian science. Sofia Tech Park will also develop and support Clubs of Interest at the new space Club House being the home for their regular meetings.
Six different clubs have already been formed:
Space Club – for fans of space science and technology;
Drone + Club – For drones and aeronautics enthusiasts;
Entrepreneurs in Science Club, organized in partnership with the Carol Knowledge Foundation;
Robo Club – Robotics Club, organized in partnership with PARA;
Artificial Intelligence Club, organized in partnership with Artificial Intelligence Cluster;
Anonymous Innovators Club, founded at the Supersonic 2019 Annual Conference on Researchers, Inventors, Entrepreneurship and Investment.
The event calendar provides various other activities that will be targeted at a wider range of people with an interest in innovation and who want to build relationships and partnerships with the community in Sofia Tech Park.
