Sports Club “Begach” celebrates 10 years since its opening with a photo exhibition on the pedestrian bridge of Sofia Tech Park, which employees and guests of the park can see until March 22.
The club’s goal is to develop mass sports and to organize amateur running competitions. So far, over 70 sports events have been held with thousands of participants. The events have a charitable cause, through the participants’ fees funds are raised for other non-governmental organizations. Since its establishment, the club has donated over 200 000 levs for various causes. In December and January, “Begach” held a competition for causes for this year, which involved nearly 30 organizations. Now in 2022, the club has 191 members, which makes it one of the largest ones in our country. The exhibition features footage from the club’s competitions: Sofia Morning Run, Run4EU, Kaufland Sofia Half Marathon, Postbank Business Run, Aurubis Nature Fest, Great Britain of the Northwest, Pravets TRI, and many more.
The opening of the photo exhibition was attended by the deputy-mayor of Sports and Culture of Sofia – Miroslav Borshosh, the Executive Director of Sofia Tech Park – Todor Mladenov, representatives of the European Commission in Sofia, the Bulgarian Athletics Federation, and the club’s business partners. The celebration of the anniversary continued with a meeting in the Venue Hall, Incubator Building of the science and technology park.
“Looking at you as organizers, I think you are an excellent model of how to motivate more people who share the same passion for sports, to motivate the community to take part in numerous activities in support of and help different noble causes that our society needs “, said the executive director of Sofia Tech Park – Todor Mladenov. He pointed out that the park is planning intriguing activities and initiatives and its team is working to turn it into a place for events related to a healthy lifestyle.
