Sofia Tech Park JSC is a host of the activities implemented through the Akademie Schloss Solitude Program of the Goethe Institute Bulgaria. This year, the main focus of the project is the topic of artificial intelligence because it is one of the biggest technological accomplishments that is already part of the most aspects of people’s lives. This is the reason why the Goethe Institute actively looks for points of intersection between the technology, art, culture and ethics in this field through serieses of projects and events. Part of them is the artist-in-residence program Akademie Schloss Solitude, in which the Goethe Institute Bulgaria is a partner and Sofia Tech Park is a host.
As part of the program, two artists in the field of digital art and artificial intelligence from Germany and Hungary will be part of the team of the Sofia Tech Park’s AI &CAD Systems Lab in June with the goal of knowledge transfer. The artists Daniel Salay (Hungary) and Tobias Cimer (Germany) will develop their ideas in Sofia Tech Park for a month – they will work on the creation of work of art that will be presented on an international exhibition. For accomplishing this goal, they will be supported by the experts working in the laboratory, their mentor will be George Cenov from the AI & CAD Systems Lab.
The two artists will get to know the different components of Sofia Tech Park and the various opportunities presented to the start-up companies and the small and medium enterprises. They will be consulted and mentored by companies carrying out similar activities from the business incubator of the park, as well as by partnering organization of Sofia Tech Park.
The Artist-in-residence Program is implemented simultaneously in 13 cities by research organizations and companies in Europe.
The program with main topic AI is a natural continuation of the Generation A=Algorithm Project of the main office of the Goethe Institute.
