Sofia Tech Park will support innovative developed and start-up companies and young teams in the cross-border region of Bulgaria and Greece

The Research and Development and Innovation Consortium, as part of Sofia Tech Park, will organize, over the next two years, a number of events in support of the small and medium enterprises and start-up teams in the Bulgarian and Greek cross-border region.

Webinars, information sessions, business clubs, consultations, B2B meetings, workshops, exhibitions, and other innovative informal events will bring together the innovation ecosystem and research units from Sofia with startups and young teams, as well as mature companies from Kardzhali, Smolyan, Haskovo and Blagoevgrad. in Bulgaria, as well as from the cities of Thessaloniki, Kavala, Serres and Xanthi in Greece.

A series of eight information sessions in the region will be organized this fall, aiming to inform the companies about the existing opportunities for financing and business development in the cross-border region, as Sofia Tech Park will focus in the field of innovations: what are the opportunities for starting an innovative business in the region, funding opportunities and others. During the event, all attendees will be able to meet with teams of Sofia Tech Park and learn more about the opportunities and services that the science and technology park offers.

The implementation of this project will contribute to wide awareness of the entrepreneurial climate in the border region of Bulgaria and Greece, as well as will support the creation of new enterprises. The project will also contribute to the establishment of new partnerships and business contacts between companies in the border towns of Bulgaria and Greece, thus improving their innovative capacity and competitiveness.

All activities will be carried out within the project “Entrepreneurship innovation encouragement” funded by the Cooperation Program “INTERREG V-A Greece – Bulgaria 2014-2020” and in partnership with the Association “Center for promoting Entrepreneurship” from Gotse Delchev, and with the Research Account of International University of Greece.
