„The Research and Development and Innovation Consortium“ presented by the laboratory of “Virtual and Augmented Reality” won a project under the program “Preservation and promotion of cultural heritage” of the National Culture Fund.

The program supports projects for protection, research and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage of Bulgaria and development of funds for improved access to cultural heritage through digital technologies and transmission of cultural content. This module aims to emphasize the contribution of cultural heritage to cultural diversity, identity and significant cultural and historical processes in Bulgaria and Europe, as well as to achieve sustainable development through active international dialogue.

The project “Digitalization and virtual presentation of cultural and historical heritage” will validate the opportunities for attractive presentation of cultural heritage with augmented reality on the web. Significant exhibits from partner museums will be photogrammetrically captured and presented intriguingly and interactively on their existing websites.

The term for implementation of the project, supported by the National Culture Fund is one year and the allocated funding amounts to BGN 10,000. Partners of the laboratory in the implementation of the project will be the National Archaeological Museum, the National Military History Museum and the Regional Historical Museum Sofia.
